A visual recognition app that helps users understand the pharmaceuticals market better. Our goal is to reduce information asymmetry by allowing users to instantly gather data on a specific type of drug.
Why we made this
From 2000-2012, the number of serious medication errors increased from 3,065 to 6,855 and about 400 died from such errors during the 13 year study. Additionally, close to 20% of adults report skipping medications because they are concerned about costs.

We are all studying in the University of British Columbia and decided to make this project during XdHacks! We wanted to do this particular project because we thought it was a good way to use technology to aid proper medication. Hopefully, with this app, our users can find a cheaper alternative to good health!

Why make this app?
We realized that there was a huge gap in what people know about medicine and what they take. This gap gave us the oppourtunity to make this app and we truly believe that this will help sustain the health of many people.
Who are we targeting?
Our target market is for anyone who gets sick and has an mobile device in a first world country where there are pharmaceutical stores and resources for obtaining medicine.
Is this app free?
This app is completely free. We don't charge for sustainable health!
What APIs did you use and how?
We used mobile text reading APIs provided by Google Cloud Services and medicine information APIs found on the web for finding alternative drugs, similar drug prices, and side effects.
What data sources did you pull from?
Our research stems from all around the web. From blogs from trusted sources to databases with average prices and price comparisons, we took a bit of everything to form our project.
What are your differences from similar apps?
We provide users a way to pick the right medication in a store front setting, whereas most other apps try to create personalized medication. We also offer alternatives that give users a cheaper option to sustainable health.
